🤝 community projects

Project Manager - SMART

In 2019, my team and I secured a $5000 grant from ArtReach from which we created SMART, a workshop series that combines the importance of self-care and self-expression through art journalling.

• Organized and led eight workshops and coordinated with other youth about grant proposals and reports
• Researched and presented material related to self-care and self-expression while also creating interactive activites to keep the audience engaged
• Increased social media presence by 17K+ accounts reached, and doubled the number of followers on our instagram through creating engaging posts and reels

Youth Lead - Healthy Living Through Arts

A community organization that I have been involved in for over ten years is Healthy Living through Arts (HLA). I first joined as a participant in 2008 and was promoted to a youth lead position as my involvement grew.

• Facilitated workshops for youth to engage in various art activities and increased community engagement by organizing a community art exhibition for 50+ attendees in 2018
• Strengthened leadership skills through strategic project planning and setting deadlines for incremental goals within team

Photographer - Active Seniors Body and Mind

In 2017, I was hired to photograph events live during the Active Seniors Body and Mind workshops.

• Remained up-to-date on current photography trends to provide new approaches for their photoshoots
• Maintained strong knowledge of photoshop, photo retouching, photo manipulation, and color correction
